Private lessons are available for musicians at all levels, from beginners to advanced players, covering a wide range of instruments. We offer comprehensive instruction in various areas, including sound recording, songwriting and composition, music theory, and vocal training.

Our studio is dedicated to helping people of all ages experience the feeling of making music. We understand that each student learns in their own unique way, so we ditch the cookie-cutter approach. Whether you're inclined towards classical piano, playing by ear, creating a home recording studio, jamming with a rock band, or just having fun with instruments, we have the ideal teacher for you!

I'm Erica Rae Austin, a homeschooling mother and devoted musician. My musical journey commenced at the tender age of 5 with Suzuki violin lessons, and by 9, I had embraced both piano and flute. These instruments, along with others, accompanied me in pit orchestras throughout my schooling, but piano has remained my central focus.

I began my higher education at Houghton College/SUNY Fredonia, delving into piano and flute studies for a year, before embarking on a path of exploration. This included pursuing Jewelry Design at Buffalo State College, embarking on travel adventures, and exploring diverse job opportunities. After welcoming my son, I chose to return to SUNY Fredonia part-time, successfully attaining a bachelor's degree in Applied Piano. This accomplishment led me to work as a freelance accompanist around the university, all while pursuing acceptance into the Collaborative Piano Performance Master’s Degree program.

I embraced this challenge wholeheartedly, completing all coursework and proudly presenting my master's recital in March 2020. Beyond the wealth of knowledge and musical growth I've gained, a newfound passion for teaching private lessons has emerged. The dynamic task of understanding each student's unique learning style and nurturing their love for music engages the multifaceted skills I've acquired throughout my diverse life experiences.

My journey at the studio commenced just as the COVID pandemic struck. After a hiatus, we reopened our doors in September, and I have continued to teach ever since. Additionally, I serve as the Minister of Music for St. John’s Community Church of Eden and contribute to the musical landscape as a keyboardist and backup vocalist for 23 Skidoo.

I am Miss Heidi, the proud owner and creator of this cozy studio nestled in South Dayton, NY. My love for music started during my childhood when my parents acquired our first piano – an instrument that has been a constant companion throughout my life's journey. I can vividly recall the mesmerizing moments when my Uncle, without sheet music, effortlessly played "The Entertainer," leaving me utterly awestruck. This experience ignited an instant and enduring passion for music and thus beginning my eagerness to embark on taking music lessons.

However, the initial challenge I encountered was that my teacher recommended learning an instrument before diving into piano. This led me to join the school band when I was in fourth grade, with the flute captivating my heart. Little did I anticipate that this love for music would blossom into a fulfilling career in the years to come. The flute emerged as my principal instrument during my band years and later in college. I ventured into piano as my secondary instrument, commencing in fifth grade. My musical explorations further expanded in seventh grade when I embraced the saxophone and unearthed the world of jazz.

Subsequently, I pursued music education studies at SUNY Fredonia, in 1992. Over the years, I've donned a multitude of hats, assuming roles ranging from a music teacher, waitress, and cashier to a butcher, Teacher's Aide, Teaching Assistant, church pianist, accompanist, and even a nanny. Yet, my most cherished roles remain that of a mother to my four wonderful children and a devoted wife to my incredible husband.

In 2014, I took a pivotal step by establishing this very studio, where I have been passionately teaching ever since. Welcoming well over a hundred students through these doors, witnessing their growth and enthusiasm, has been incredibly rewarding. Adding to this creative venture, I initiated a Drama Club several years ago, fueled by my aspiration to sustain the arts within our tight-knit community.

In an exciting development this year, I've embarked on a new chapter as an author, creating a guitar method book titled "Guitar for Little Fingers." This endeavor stems from my commitment to fostering musical education in innovative ways. I am already in the process of book #2 and have started a piano method series as well.

I will continue to breathe life into the arts in this charming small town for many years to come. With gratitude, I look forward to nurturing the arts in our town this year and beyond.

With over 16 years of guitar mastery under his fingers, Jared's passion for music has lead him to pursue a degree in Music Education from Suny Fredonia School of Music. He is a recent graduate and eager to start teaching.

Jared's musical journey started with classical guitar but he also has explored various other woodwind instruments as well as percussion. His dream is to one day become a band teacher, shaping the future of aspiring musicians.

Classes

A Music and movement class for your little one and a loving adult to discover music together. Playing instruments,singing, moving and exploring can uncover an engaging musical world while building confidence,gaining communication skills and learning to play with others.

Teen Jam is a fun class for TEENS(13+) ​who want to play in a band. Whether ​you play guitar, drums, sing, or ​something else, you'll get to work with ​others, try out different styles, and ​improve your skills. Each session ​focuses on creativity and teamwork as ​you create music together. Jam Lab is ​open to all experience levels and is the ​perfect place to find your people, make ​new friends, and grow your musical ​talent!

🎶✨ **Three Months of Musical Adventures & Winning the LBA Grant!** ✨🎶

Hey there, music mavens and fellow groove enthusiasts! As we gear up for the Thanksgiving feast, I can't help but burst with excitement to share some fantastic news and heartfelt thanks with all of you.

Can you believe it's been three months already? It's been an absolute blast seeing our little corner of musical wonder come alive with so much enthusiasm and talent.

And guess what? Drumroll, please... we won the Laine Business Accelerator grant! Woohoo! 🎉 Can I just say, this is beyond amazing? Winning this grant has lit a fire in our hearts, igniting our passion for music even more. It's like adding an extra guitar riff to an already epic song—it takes things to a whole new level!

But you know what's even more amazing? It's YOU—yes, YOU, our incredible community of music lovers! To the 67 rockstars who've been coming through our doors, thank you for sharing your musical journey with us. From the tiny tots shaking the egg shakers to the seasoned pros polishing their craft, each and every one of you adds a special sparkle to our musical family.

And to those eagerly waiting to jump in and join the jam session, hang tight—we're working round the clock to welcome you into our music-making studio.

This whole adventure has been nothing short of magical. Seeing the smiles, the 'aha' moments, and witnessing your growth in music—it's what makes our hearts sing! The joy of learning and creating music together has created a vibe that's more infectious than a catchy melody.

As we gather 'round our Thanksgiving tables, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you who's strummed, sung, tapped, or even hummed along with us. Your support, enthusiasm, and love for music are the secret ingredients that make this musical journey so darn special.
